“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them”
(Rom. 8:28 NLT)
How often do we find ourselves up against a challenge or unexpected storm in our lives and ask ourselves; how can this be worked out for my good and God’s glory? God has a way of taking some of our worst experiences in life and using it as a catalyst to get us on track for our purpose. It’s not that He brings the challenges in our lives, but our Father God uses whatever we go through and makes it work for us if we allow Him. I know looking back on some dark times in my life when I could not imagine how God was going to use my situation to work out for my good or His glory. But looking back I see if I had not experienced some of the adverse situations, I would not have made some of the decisions that propelled me to my purpose. What I learned from these experiences is to trust God regardless of how challenging the experience may be. Maintain a positive attitude, thank Him throughout the experience for using it to make you better. We learn from difficult times, not the easy ones. It’s like lifting weights. Muscles grow when they are challenged by the pressure of heavy weights. Even though lifting weights can be uncomfortable, particularly the next morning when you wake up to sore muscles that are painful to move. As you continue to challenge the muscle, you will experience the reward of a bigger, stronger muscle. Like our muscles, our character, spiritual growth and personalities are strengthened as we allow our life’s challenges to mold and shape us into the strong men and women God has called us to be.
Prayer: Father God, I trust you to work out this situation for my good and your Glory. Thank you for giving me the strength, patience and courage to endure this with a good attitude. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
